WHAT IS SINGLE'S GOLF?

BENEFITS OF JOINING

No one really knows.  Our best guess is that it's a bunch of people who are single (i.e. never married, divorced, widowed, or legally separated, age 21 or over, who really, really, really, enjoy golf.

There are 50+ clubs in the United States.  They each meet during the second or third week of the month (because there are generally no holidays during those weeks).  They meet on a week night, usually from 6-8 PM at a local restaurant.  A good turnout for mingles is important because SINGLES WANT TO  MEET OTHER SINGLES, so  members are always encouraged to BRING A FRIEND to the mingle, monthly social, golf outings, cookouts...anything the club is involved in.

The mingles are fun and informal.  The members come away from the mingles with thoughts like "I really met some nice people" and "I'm excited about improving my golf game".  They know that playing golf once or twice each month with other singles will improve their game and enhance their social life, and they look forward to this involvement.

Although the song says "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", our scientific research found that guys "wanna have just as much fun".  (Speaking of girls - did you know that nationally our male/female ratio is within 1% of being 50/50!!  Some clubs start out with more girls than guys - or vice-versa, but eventually the membership levels out to 50% men, 50% women!)

Singles golf will FORCE you to have a social life.  And after all is said and done in life, it's your friends and family that you remember most.

That's kind of what Singles Golf is all about . . .

. . . fun, fellowship, and fairways!

THE BENEFITS OF JOINING

The Golf Course is a great place to get to know someone.  Whether you're playing with someone of the same or opposite sex, or spending four to five hours with a new acquaintance, the golf game allows you a great opportunity to become familiar with those you are playing with.  You see them when they're at their best, like when they sink a 20-foot putt, and when they're at their worst, like trying to hit out of the woods --- after three attempts!!!

Getting to know other single people who play golf is what the American Singles Golf Association (ASGA) is all about.  ASGA was formed as a non-profit corporation whose intent is to promote the growth of singles golf clubs throughout the United States.  Each local club established will work in coordination with ASGA to promote the same fun and fellowship through club play.

You will fit in because we're not professional golfers.  Far from that!  The average player has a 25 handicap, so there should be no concern on your part about "fitting in"!  ASGA encourages local chapters to provide programs to improve individual golfing skills through clinics, outings, and tournaments.  Equally important are the social activities the local chapter provides you as a member.  (By the way, don't be shy about attending our mingles.  We have several guests attend each chapter every month ... so don't worry about "knowing someone"!)

New Friends.  The best benefit of joining!  ASGA is committed to providing a steady stream of singles for you to meet.  We do this by encouraging you and your fellow members to invite guests to club events, and through regular press releases and other public relation efforts.  We know that meeting and getting to know other singles is a main reason that you're interested in ASGA, and golf is the frosting on the cake!

Join now, because life is short and friends are important.  If you're a single and over 21 years of age, and you've fallen in love with golf, you're invited to join a local chapter.  Mark your calendar for the next mingle and invite a friend to come with you.  Membership is $70 and is good for a full year.  Applications are available at all events.
