Stableford Shamble Tournament

Chemawa Golf Course

Saturday, May 10th at 12:00 Noon

 

Players should check in at the sign-up table 1/2 hour before the start of the tournament

TOURNAMENT RULES

 

·              Chemawa Golf Course

FORMAT:  Team Stableford Shamble

·              All players hit from the location of the best drive off the tee 

and play their own ball, from that point, to the hole.

·              Each player's tee shot must be used at least once, can be on any hole.

·              Handicap is taken based on the lowest handicap in the tournament field.

·              Put down each player's score for each hole, the gross scores.

·              The team's total "Stableford" score is the team score for each hole.

                           8 Points (Net Double Eagle)

                           5 Points (Net Eagle)

                           2 Points (Net Birdie)

                           1 Point   (Net Par)

                           0 Points (Net Bogie)

                           -1 Point  (Net Double Bogie or higher)

·              The highest team point total wins the tournament.

 

·              To maintain speed of play:

           1)  The max score on any hole is a net double bogie

           2)  Lost Balls and Out of Bounds:  If a provisional ball was not played then drop a ball

                  within two club lengths of the lost spot or out of bounds.  Add one penalty stroke to score.

 

·              Men hit from the BLUE tees

·              Women hit from the RED tees

 

SIGNUP and SCORECARDS:

·              Purchase Mulligans – benefits our ASGA Central Mass Chapter

·              Contribute $5 to the Cash prize pool

·              Scorecards – one for each team, see Kim Tartarini

 

$5 MULLIGANS (OPTIONAL):

·              Two mulligans may be purchased by each player for $5.

·              Mulligans are to be used by each individual player at any time during the round.

·              If a mulligan is used, the mulligan ball becomes the player’s shot in play.

 

$5 PRIZE POOL (OPTIONAL):

·              Only those who contribute $5 to this pool, are eligible to win the tournament prizes

·              The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place tournament prize money is taken from this pool

·              All prizes will be awarded in the form of “ASGA Bucks” for use in future tournaments

·              The “ASGA Bucks” awarded throughout the year, expire after the last tournament of the year 

 

CLOSEST TO THE PIN CONTESTS (HOLE  #9 and HOLE #16):

·              All participants are eligible

·              The ball must be on the green

·              Only original tee shots are eligible, mulligan shots do not count

 

 

     ASGA  HOLE-IN-ONE CONTEST (HOLE #11)

      EDWIN WATTS  HOLE-IN-ONE CONTEST (HOLE #13)

      HOLE-IN-ONE RULES:

        Only Central Mass ASGA Members are eligible.

          Eligibility begins the day/time your dues payment is received and continues for one year thereafter.

          Hole-In-One MUST be witnessed and attested to by the other 3 playing partners.

          Hole-In-One must be made from the teeing ground (designated tee box), holed out in one stroke

             on the designated par 3.

          Mulligan shots do not count.

          Valid for the first person who makes a hole-in-one only.

          Completed scorecard must be submitted.

          USGA rules apply in all cases.

          All Judgments are at the sole discretion of Central Mass ASGA.  All decisions are final.

 

 

MISSING PLAYERS:  On Tee Shots Only

·              "A" Player missing ... the "B" Player hits twice

·              "B" Player missing ... the "A" and "C" Players alternate hitting twice

·              "C" Player missing ... the "B" and "D" Players alternate hitting twice

·              "D" Player missing ... the "C" Player hits twice

 

TEAM PRIZES:

·              The amount of prize money is determined by the amount of money collected in the

              $5 Prize Pool

·              1st Place Team:       50% of the "$5 Prize Pool” 

·              2nd Place Team:       30% of the "$5 Prize Pool"

·              3rd Place Team:       20% of the "$5 Prize Pool"

·              All prizes will be awarded in the form of "ASGA Bucks" for use in future tournaments 

·              The ASGA Bucks awarded throughout the year, expire after the last tournament of the year

             

IN THE EVENT OF A TIE:

·              If there is a tie, then the score on the number one handicap hole will be used to

         determine the winner.

·              If the score is still tied then the next handicap hole will determine the winner, etc.

 

GOLF COURSE RULES:

·              All participants are to be familiar with and abide by Chemawa Golf Course rules

·              Refer to Chemawa's proshop or Kim Tartarini for any rules questions

 

RAIN DELAYS and CANCELLATION:

·              Cancellation of play, due to rain, is at the discretion of the golf course management.

·              Any player who decides not to play, due to weather conditions, will not be issued a credit, unless the golf course management decides to issue such credits.

·              Play must be suspended immediately if there is thunder/lightning in the area.

·              If it starts to rain, each team may take a ½ hour rain delay time out.

·              If at least one team continues play through a rain delay, the other teams must continue play or withdraw from the tournament after their 1/2 hour rain delay time out.

·              If ALL teams come off the course and stop playing for over 1/2 hour, and conditions clear, ALL teams must want to participate, for the tournament to continue.

·              The last hole played by the last team, will be the last hole that is counted by all of the teams, should the tournament be terminated.

 

DARKNESS:

·              If the last team decides it is too dark for them to continue, then their last hole played, will be the last official hole counted by all other teams
