2009 RYDER CUP RESULTS

On Saturday, August 15, Central Mass and Hartford got together to play the annual Ryder Cup matches at Portland Golf Course in Portland, CT.  Congratulations to the Central Mass team on a decisive 46-26 victory. 

The competition first started in 2002.  Since then Hartford has won 5 times and Central Mass 3 times.  This years competition was held on one of the hottest days of the year.  Thankfully Hartford had volunteers that went around the course and gave out ice, water, and snacks to keep us all going.  The event was followed by a great Texas BBQ and a raffle.  Everyone had a great time and we are looking forward to to next years match.

Special thanks to JoAnn Bryant, Jack Curtiss, Dave Walstrom and George Duffy of Hartford and Kim Tartarini of Central Mass for organizing the event and captaining the teams.

Next year Central Mass will host the event and we will try to keep the cup in Massachusetts.  Job well done Central Mass.
